Atentas a essa demanda crescente e à essa nova atribuição delegada aos profissionais bibliotecários o presente relato de experiência tem por objetivo demonstrar um panorama de desempenho e impacto mundial da pesquisa na área de Química e correlatas realizadas no Instituto de Química de São Carlos da Universidade de São Paulo no período de 2012 a 2016. Foram utilizados os aplicativos específicos de avaliação qualitativas e quantitativas automatizadas (Web of Science - , Clarivate Analytics/ Thomson Reuters / Scopus, Scival - Elsevier e na Plataforma Sucupira Qualis Periódicos, e no Banco de Dados Bibliográficos da USP Dedalus). Visa ainda, identificar a colaboração do Instituto de Química com determinadas instituições em todos os âmbitos, possibilitando o reconhecimento de novos colaboradores. Através da análise e geração de indicadores bibliométricos e cientométricos, será possível contribuir também para o direcionamento da política científica institucional. Conclui-se que, após os resultados alcançados, o bibliotecário frente a essa nova demanda da biblioteca universitária, poderá contribuir para facilitar o trabalho de novos pesquisadores e grupos de pesquisa. Auxiliando assim, pesquisadores e instituições a realizarem investimentos mais qualificados e de maior importância para a Instituição, para a sociedade e para o crescimento da própria ciência mundial. Palavras-chave: Química Produção científica. produção científica; Indicadores de colaboração científica - química; Abstract: The importance of biometric analysis has grown to institutions', researchers' and research areas' performance appraisal. Observant of this growing demand and of new attributions delegated to professional librarians, this experience report has the objective to demonstrate a performance overview and an worldwide impact of research in Chemistry and its correlate areas conducted at Sao Paulo's University (USP) São Carlos Chemistry Institute from 2012 to 2016. There were used specific automized quantitative and qualitative appraisal applications (Web of Science/Clarivate Analytics/Thomson Reuter/Scopus, Scival - Elsevier and Sucupira Plataform - Qualis Períodicos, and at USP's Bibliographic Database - Dedalus). It aims, yet, to identify the Chemistry Institute's collaboration with other [determined] institutions in all areas, enabling the recognition of new collaborators. Through the analysis and generation of bibliometric and scientometric indicators, it will be possible to contribute, too, to targeting of institutional scientific policy. According to the reached results, it is possible to affirm that the librarian, faced with the new demands of the university library, will be able to contribute to facilitate the work of new researchers and research groups. Assisting, thus, researchers and �institutions to conduct more qualified investments and of greater importance to the institution, to society and to the growth of worldwide science itself.
