Embora integrando o acervo das 28 bibliotecas da Universidade, o sistema esperava "off-line" e tinha como produto principal um catálogo irA presso. Este sistema foi desativado em 1983 por falta de equipamento na UFRGS. Em 1988 foi iniciada a segunda fase do processo de automação do Sistema, com apoio da FINEP e PNBU no que se refere à aquisição do equipamento básico inicial. O atual projeto prevê: - Habilitação do pessoal do Sistema no uso de microcomputadores; - Desenvolvimento de software de entrada de dados em Formato IBICT para microcomputador PC; - Registro dos dados bibliográficos do acervo da UFRGS em Formato IBICT; - Desenvolvimento de gerenciador de bases de dados bibliográficos com características de portabilidade para outros equipamentos e bibliotecas; - Conversão dos dados registrados no Formato CALCO para o formato IBICT; - Desenvolvimento e implantação dos subsistemas de Serviços Usuários, Formação e Desenvolvimento de Coleções e gerência Administrativa; - Participação em sistemas cooperativos como o Catálogo Coletivo Nacional de Publicações Periódicas, a rede BIBLlODATNCALCO e a Rede Sui de Automação de Bibliotecas. 251 � Dublin Core The Dublin Core metadata element set is common to all Omeka records, including items, files, and collections.
